Well the rest of the Cardinale family arrived on Saturday July 6th. The boys did great, and they stayed awake all day and fell asleep on the couch at 6PM. The great news is that they slept through the night, and two days into their trip seem better adjusted to the 15 hour time change than their father, who has been here two weeks. Ahh…the power of the uninterrupted sleep of a child!
Well last week, I ran a boot camp in Melbourne for a pharmaceutical company and, as always, I had a great time and I learned much. But what stuck with me was the power of a simple “Thank you”. At the end of the 1.5 day boot camp the team really, genuinely thanked me for my time. It was not about a supplier/customer relationship but, it was about enjoying out time together to craft and align on a story of how we create Differential Value for our Customers. Customer Value Creation.
Maybe it is me, or maybe it does not happen enough, but it
felt really great to be thanked for a job well done. So think about it. When is the last time you thanked a colleague, co-worker or supplier for a job well done? Do it. Because when done with
genuineness, it creates a feeling of reciprocity that is returned by a factor
of "X". I know I do not do it enough, and
I am now more aware of the power of two simple words to inspire those around
you.
