In our Company description, we talk about our purpose as increasing the speed of collaboration internally and with customers. That statement is at the core of why we do what we do.
Thus far in Render, we’ve built developed features and functionality to help Marketing, Sales and Management collaborate with customers on how to grow together. Going forward, we will enable companies to invite to the value prop party two new stakeholders: Customers and Product Managers. By creating accessibility for the people who buy your value and the people who make the things that create customer value, Render becomes an end-to-end platform of collaboration between customer and supplier to win together.
Here is a preview of some of the tools you should expect to see coming out of the Valkre labs over the next several months:
Customer Portal. Even though we have the structure in place for collaborating with customers, most of our efforts to enable speed have been focused internally to the supplier company not their customers. For example the Customer Module and Reports are both instruments to increase speed within the company as supplier. To increase the speed of collaboration with customer directly, we are working on giving the customer access to the DVP through a Customer Portal.
Stop and think about the value of that to a customer....What would be more important to a customer than collaborating with you directly on “what your company is doing to help their business.” We’d all like the cycle time for this work to happen faster...faster, more organized feedback from customers...faster, more direct information to customers on improvements. We already have the structure in place to obtain, enter, and act on the feedback, and we will be making it faster by utilizing new communication tools to make such an effort possible like never before.
Offerings. A strong DVP is often a potent combination of products and services, packaged up to create the most customer value possible. Each element of the DVP is typically designed, built, and improved by a specialist that knows more about that piece of the puzzle than anyone. This knowledge includes how customer value is created, measured, and quantified. It can include insight about how a company’s offering stacks up against competitive offerings. Competitive insights are powerful information key to the selling and marketing the value something creates for customers.
Where do these insights typically reside today? It’s not uncommon to be locked in the brains of one or two smart people, spreadsheets full of feature assessments, outdated value calculators, dusty print brochures – all of which are hardly scalable and sustainable for an organization looking to collaborate with speed. Our team is designing and developing ways to make it easier to manage this all-important information so that teams can craft and quantify DVPs even faster. This will be done in Render such that when customer feedback comes in on a particular product or service, the Product Manager who owns it will know about it.
Render Apps. Social media platforms and mobile apps are obviously important new productivity tools in B2B. But are they truly helping to win customer orders in the B2B setting? Our view is that these tools can and should be more purposeful for B2B organizations. To that end, we are going to enable enterprise social tools to make the status of DVP improvement initiatives more accessible internally within the organization, as well as between the organization and its customers.
We can create the same accessibility in mobile by equipping sales professionals with DVP digitally in their pocket. All of this innovation is possible because we have the structure in place with DVP and the speed backbone of Render in place. What we are working on now is making it more ubiquitous regardless of the device or interface.
All of these tools are ideas that we have co-created with you, our customers. You have collaborated with us to put the structure for growth in place, a structure built around DVP so that organizations can focus on what is valuable to customer and what is being done to improve. We’ve injected speed into the structure by enabling DVP with Render and designing features and interfaces that allow people to quickly access the information needed.
As we look forward, our work will be to continue building greater speed into your collaboration internally and with customers. If you want to send us your ideas for the Render journey ahead, let us know your comments below.
